Life in Focus

About

I am a scientist, and as you have deduced an amateur photographer. Currently residing outside of San Francisco, California. In part I study patterns of biological diversity, I hope some of the images here inspire awe and wonder of that very thing.

This is version 2.0 of my personal photography and blog page. The original content was lost. I am in the process of repopulating in order to bring back as much of the written content, and pictures, as possible. I will also strive to make some new improvements, and add a lot more photos. Posts currently are not organized by date.

The color scheme is for better photographic viewing, I recommend using Firefox’s Reader pluggin, to read the longer written posts.

Please do appreciate that I have been in good company for many of my travels, and whilst taking the pictures presented here. I have opted generally for my companion’s privacy, for several reasons. The opinions expressed are my own. Real exploration requires teamwork, and adventures are best in good company.

I encourage use of images for scientific or educational purposes without charge, but with citation*. Contact me if you have any desire to purchase images, I would be happy to discuss possible options.

Please enjoy.

– I like to solve problems, mostly those about biology, and preferably underwater.
